We are working on milling a project and the model is in inches but it's moving the mill in millimeters. Not sure where we screwed up, but how do we fix this?

For instance, it's indexing to the surface correctly, but the curve is .275 mm instead of .275 inches.

Anyway to get this fixed without scrapping the program?

Thank you!

Since your numbers look correct (.275" = .275mm) chances are your machine is running in metric instead of inches. Look for the documentation of the machine to find out how to switch from metric to inches. On many controls G20 is inches and G21 is metric but you better check the books and test run the program! 5mm into the table isn't a big deal but 5 inches...

If your numbers in the NC code are different from your FeatureCAM dimensions on the model (for example .275" on the model turns into 6.985mm posted in the code) then you have to switch the output units for your post. You find that under Post Options, Output Units, Metric/Inch.

Good luck

F.
