In using swiss cam i have noticed that when i input a material it changes my cycle time by a bunch and i was wondering how accurate the time study really is.

There is so much swisscam doesn't know about your machine, like the time it takes to ramp your spindle up to speed or rechucking the next bit of bar at the program end or dwells between machining paterns, the the time study is more ish than bob on.
I think what it shows is how long the actual cut + standard tool change time will take in perfect conditions, it doesn't allow for anything thing else!

Ps there is a Partmaker section in the forums thats for swisscam too :D
