Post subject: Line tangent on two points of a curve
PostPosted: Wed Feb 17, 2016 2:56 pm
Hello everyone,

This probably is something very simple and i apologize for that. I need to draw a line that is tangent to a curve in two points. Probably im just tired but can't think of any solution that doesn't involve constructing 2 arcs on the areas i want the tangency to happen (also this isn't a 100% accurate solution, just an aproximation).

The following printscreen ilustrates my problem. The tangency must happen on the two "peaks" on the top of the green curve.

Thank you very much.

If you select the curve and from the 'curve edit' toolbar select 'Fit arcs to curve' it will fit arcs to the curve, then when you go into line creation the intelligent cursor will find the tangency.
