Dear staff,
When I was reading the user guide for custom software core, I found out that on page 14, the executing macro commands, powerMill.Execute ("CREATE PATTERN ;"); and etc., did not set the macro file path. Shall I follow the VS2012 C# syntax, such as: used powerMILL.Execute(@"C:\CSC_Tests\CSC_PowerMILL_Examples\MACRO PROPELLER.MAC"); ?

Further more, why the Macro Commands need to be in capital letters?

I use CSC for the sake of automation.

Thank you.

Hi HelenHou

The powerMill.Execute() function accepts a macro command (or array of commands) as an argument not a macro script. To run a macro script you will need to use:

powerMill.RunMacro(new Delcam.FileSystem.File(@"C:\CSC_Tests\CSC_PowerMILL_Examples\MACRO PROPELLER.MAC"));

Although, use of the powerMill.Execute() function is discouraged and you should instead try to use alternatives available in Custom Software Core. You can request new functionality you need via this forum.

I will also look into updating the document you refer to.

And finally, macro commands are generally written in uppercase to distinguish them from conventional code. This is how it appears in the Command Window within PowerSHAPE if you select "Echo Commands" and this is the format you should use.

Kind regards

Craig

Dear Craig,
Many thanks for taking precious time to help me. I appreciate your important helps. But the compiling error reported by VS2012 is :

1>------ Build started: Project: UsingTemplateFiles, Configuration: Debug Any CPU ------
1>Build started 14/5/2015 9:57:28 AM.
1>Project file contains ToolsVersion="12.0". This toolset may be unknown or missing, in which case you may be able to resolve this by installing the appropriate version of MSBuild, or the build may have been forced to a particular ToolsVersion for policy reasons. Treating the project as if it had ToolsVersion="4.0". For more information,

Despite having said that "One is enough!" and we'd never employ anyone else called Craig, it appears that our anti-craig defences have been breached.

IOW This is not the [strike]droid[/strike]Craig you're looking for.

Hi HelenHou, did you manage to find a solution to this?
